In this post I'm going to give you a review on my favorite products this summer, as promised.
I have tried so many things this spring and summer it's insane. Maybe it's because I´ve actually started testing all the free samples I have saved up.
I tried to pick out some of my favorites that I have been using and enjoy a lot. I decided not to review any eyeshadows because I think I´ve told you what I think about most of them when I swatch them. Besides, if I´m gonna talk about all the pretty eyeshadows I got during this summer, this blogpost would be way too long.
So I picked out four products that I pretty much use everyday, well maybe not every day but a lot.
So let's jump right on to the first one, the Dior Diorskin Forever foundation (I have number 031). When it comes to foundations and similar products I don´t want to give a review until I've used it for a while because I want to know if I´m gonna break out or how it feels to work with in different days and different techniques. Everyday is different and some days you might have a bad skin day or feel dry or extra oily or just whatever you know. The skin changes, especially during the summer when you are in the sun and water a lot and it sometimes gets pretty warm. But I´ve really been enjoying this foundation. It´s not so heavy and feels light on the skin. I wouldn't call this a full coverage foundation, and I don´t think it is but it still covers enough and gives an even look. So far it has not caused any breakouts, no more than I use to get every now and then so that is great. To apply it I have tried both the Beauty Blender and a foundation brush. I´ve even applied it with my fingers a few times.
When it comes to applying it on the whole face I prefer the Beauty Blender. It's super for that, especially since I intend to get a bit dry, the damp blender works against that a little. So far I would say it's my favorite foundation, but as I've mentioned before I don´t use foundation everyday and up until about 1- 1,5 years ago I didn't even like wearing foundation at all. And I´m still pretty picky when it comes to that so...But this one I really like. I even use it as a highlighter or a concealer ones in a while and it works for that as well. Speaking about concealer, I have to get one and a good bronzer. Any ways, The Diorskin Forever foundation is something I recommend. As I said it feels light on my face and doesn't break me out. And this foundation prevents a bit oiliness as well.
The next summer favorite is the Smashbox contour kit. One highlight shade and two bronze/contour shades. All three matte shades. This I have come to use almost every day. Even if I don't wear foundation I still use the highlight under my eyes and contour a bit on my cheeks. I like it, even if the darker shades doesn't show off that much. I might try some other bronzers and contouring products during fall but this summer I have been using the heck out of this palette. The price was pretty good as well and I would definitely recommend this for someone who is new on the whole contouring/highlighting stuff and I like that you get a brush with it.
Ok, so the next summer favorite is the Sigma Precision tapered - P86 brush. This brush is perfect for applying concealer both under the eyes and on more precise places like acne scars or something. I don´t have so much to say about it except that it's a good brush hihi.
And the last little summer fav is of course the Beauty Blender. I absolutely love this little doll boll. It's amazing for foundation and concealer. I can´t wait to try the micro mini blenders, the green babies to this baby. As for concealer I sometimes use it dry but when applying foundation I only use it damp, which is how you should use it. It feels so soft and cool on the skin and is eay to work with and get that even finish. It´s so wierd that you can get such diffrent results just by using diffrent tools when applying. But for liquid foundations this is the best! The only bad thing I have noticed so far is that it was a bit tricky to get clean, even though I only used a very tiny amount of cleans it was hard to get all the lather out and at the pointy end the foundation didn't really get off. But other then that, only good stuff about the Beauty Blender.
My god I look a mess on this picture, am I tired or what?? haha
So this post turned out longer than I planned and I even tried to keep it short. But now you have some tips on good products. All of these I can recommend for everyone whether you use makeup everyday or just once in awhile, whether you have a steady hand with makeup or if you're a beginner. These are some really good stuff.
The Diorskin foundation can be bought at Kicks, Harmoniq and Sephora's website. The contour kit can be found at Kicks and Sephora. The beauty blender I bought at Sephora but I saw it at Harmoniq as well. The brush is from Sigma Beauty.com.
I was recommended a swedish website, by a makeup artist, called eleven.se. They have a whole lot a things from many diffrent brands. Can be worth checking out.
I think that's pretty much it but if you have any questions let me know.
Talk to you all soon.
Oh my, I know I said I wouldn't talk about eyeshadows but I when I think about the favorites of this summer I can not not think about the Naked palette. Absolutely love it! Perfect for all kind of looks, from an everyday makeup to a more dramatic eye. Lovely!
